Many MIPro users prefer NotePad++ for their MapBasic IDE. This addition makes writing MapBasic programs a bit easier with syntax highligting and keywords in the Notepad++ IDE. It has been updated to contain contents from MapBasic 17.x.
Attached mapbasic.xml file provides Syntax Highlighting and AutoCompletion when writing MapBasic programs in NotePad++. Download file, unzip it and then use NotePad++ Language>Define your Language menu and import this mapbasic.xml file. You can then switch to this User Language and adjust styles as desired for highlighting and add any new keywords.
Keywords for syntax highlighting are in groups for Icon Defines, MapBasic keywords, MapBasic Functions and subs, MapBasic Defines Part 1 & Part 2, Menu defines, Extensibilty enumerations, and Extensibility methods (most common ones).
*** Notepad++ has a limit to number of keywrds in a group so not all Extensibility methods can be added and MapBasic defines had to be split into two groups using same highlighting style.
