The 'Orange Diskette': use File > Save Table As... to save and reopen a table with a new name.
About FileSaveAs.MBX (Version 0.65)
This application adds a Save Table As... option to MapInfo Professional.
This option is accessible via the File (and the Tools) menu, the Standard toolbar and the Table List context menu (the 'Orange Diskette').
Save Table As allows you to save a table with a new name (and location).
After saving the new table, the original table will be closed and the new table will be opened.
Please note: on closing the original table all settings (e.g. zoom layering or style override), queries and thematics will be lost.
However, if the original table was present in a Map Window, the new table will also be opened in or added to this Map Window - with default settings. And in the same way, if the original table was present in a Browser Window, the new table will again be opened in a Browser Window - with default settings.
Source code (FileSaveAs.mb) included in the download. MBX compiled for MapInfo Professional 10.5 and higher. (If you remove the reference to the Table List context menu - introduced in 10.5 - you might be able to compile the tool with older MapBasic versions.)
